Pujya Swami Dayanand Saraswatiji was a traditional teacher of the self-knowledge, Brahma-Vidya, a great scholar of Vedanta and Sanskrit and was one of the ardent exponents in this modern ear for Hindu Dharma of Vedic Culture. He was expounding the teaching of Vedanta in very simple, clear and easy grasping language. His teachings were giving a clear vision of the reality with the help of day to day experiences of human life. His mastery over teaching is unparalleled. He was teaching with such clarity that all the listeners and students could grasp the teaching and vision easily. Besides being a scholar of Vedanta and Sanskrit, he was an expert in modern subjects such as management, psychology, law and order, education, human rights, pollution, etc. By filling the gap between ancient wisdom and modern thinking, he was making Upanishadic Knowledge available for modern thinking seekers.

While working as an editor, he came across Vedanta talks by Swami Chinmayanandaji in Chennai. In 1962, Swami Chinmayanandaji confirmed him Sannyasa Diksha on the sacred day of Mahashivratri and gave the name Swami Dayananda Saraswati because, he as an embodiment of Daya, compassion. Then Swamiji decided to go to Rishikesh for pursuing the self-knowledge at the foothill of Himalaya. Pujya
